A couple of things brought to our attention this weekend:
Number one rule when Kayaking, Canoeing or Tubing: Bring proper rope for the one in the group who insists that a tube is appropriate. And preferably, try and not let the most scared of the group even use the tube. I can’t count how many times one of us had to exit our kayak to help them get out of brush along side the river. I prefer not to step in Snakeville as much as possible to help them. (I know, that sounded so selfish. Selfish, but true!)
After observing this fine holiday Monday watching the sunset on the beach, I am going petition to Congress to mandate 3-day weekends. It just seems much more fitting.
I never realized how much shorter I am next to Kayaks. I never though about my height until I saw this photo, grant it, Kayak’s and surfboard’s are at a usual average of 12ft.
Food: It is ok that you can’t eat Asian food with chopsticks. I have completely accepted that I just can’t eat with them. And also, red potato’s, crab legs, shrimp, bruschetta, and Rockefeller oysters are a perfect snack in Florida, at 1am..
I cheated on the beach this weekend.. with the river.. and I liked it.
Perhaps watching Friday the 13ths prior to the night before wasn’t the best decision.
Probably watching Piranha a few weeks ago wasn’t good either.

I am a nature freak. This is evidential proof that I have hiked in flip flops. That is what happens when you take a Floridian to the mountains. Obviously, I survived and became one with nature. It was a win win. Still prefer the ocean more. I have too. I am from Florida.
After seeing The Advengers last night (boring)… I am totally ready and stoked for Tim Burton’s release of ‘Dark Shadows’ starring that gorgeous hunk of a man, Johnny Depp. Oh, hurry up, Friday night! I’ll be there with my popcorn. I must say I totally dig the fact that Burton decides to cast Depp in all his movies. I believe the two have made an immortal bond. Plus Depp is total swoon-worthy, so it all works out.
Oh, the weekend. Finally we meet again. I tell ya, if I don’t get to the beach this weekend, I am going to start looking like Johnny Depp in Burton’s movies.. vampire white. I think the salt life is calling this weekend.

With the vote in North Carolina to keep same sex marriage/equality rights banned, I want to share this video that hopefully opens eyes to reality that sets in. (Some) people don’t understand, nor care that when they are taking away someone’s rights to be happy, they are taking away a lot more than just a piece of paper. Hopefully, this video will shed some light to those who haven’t accepted that everyone deserves to be happy, and possibly progress with a change of heart. You wouldn’t want your rights to be taken away. Why take away someone else’s? This affects me because most of my friends who are male are in the same boat, and can’t fully call their partner their spouse, legally. This is for Michael, Rocky, Jeffrey, & Levi.. who are my friends who deserve to be happy.
So I have to admit I am getting slightly addicted (Oh who am I kidding.. a whole lot addicted) to HBO’s new show “Girls.” Possibly the generation’s now “Sex & The City,” (which I honestly never watched) & in my opinion has to be much better. And I might be developing a slight girl crush on Lena Dunham, who I have the upmost respect for. (I still like dudes. However, it is perfectly acceptable for us to have girl crushes.) I enjoy the brilliance that Lena brings into the show, in a quirky and honest fashion. She writes, directs, produces and acts. Now, that is work. Obviously her hard work and dedication as a creative writing grad student paid off as she has landed her own show on HBO. It is also refreshing to see a girl who isn’t your average blonde and skinny bimbo actress starring on television. I think she is awesome. Do yourself a favor and watch it. You just might get hooked, like me. Dudes, it is ok, you can watch it too.
How I spent my Cinco De Mayo: (minus anything Mexican. I love Mexican food and spirits usually, but took a different turn for this day.)
On the vinyl hunt with NathanSharing and Marc Saturday morning, with some awesome finds. Spent a total of 6 hours hopping around vinyl stores and estate sales. Getting up at 7am on Saturday mornings isn’t as bad as long as it involves Java of some sort. I am becoming a pro.
NathanSharing’s garden is becoming fully blossomed with fruits and veggies. They currently grow enough vegetation to live off of for a year and to make one heck of an awesome salad. Next they need to start growing grapes because wino’d Saturday afternoon’s are becoming quite frequent.
Oh, the start of another work week. Can I extend the weekend just a few more hours??

So, my evening just a got a little bit better than before, with this release I just purchased. Can’t wait to start it. It is very interesting in opening eyes to the most mysterious Beatle of them all.. George Harrison. I think everyone should take the night off and curl up on the couch with this. Do it.

Watching Horrible Bosses for the 2nd time on HBO. This movie was so much more better in the theater. Or maybe it is because I am movie theater spoiled.

Weekend review/Lessons Learned:
1. After recalling the movie JAWS, and really reflecting on scientific facts that sharks feed at night.. perhaps night swimming with the buds wasn’t the brightest idea.
2. Never listen to an overly paranoid female, such as my dear friend Michelle. Showing up to a movie one hour in advance isn’t going to save you a seat for a movie.. It is going to prolong boredom of waiting for it to start.
3. Garden flare is perfectly ok.. meaning adding painted prop signs to your veggies is an enhancement. Adds cutest and personality to any garden scene. Homemade painted signs of yours truly is even better.
4. Sunday Funday’s that include a personal iTunes playlist of over 30 ‘Animals’ songs are great for any shin’dig, even 30 years later, at any age. It truly puts spunk into the night this evening. Because let’s face it.. The Animals were the greatest band next to the Beatles. If you disagree, I am sorry you don’t know music.
